Little House Nails & Beauty- How it all began

Hello and welcome to my first post! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.

So, how did Little House Nails & Beauty begin?

Back in 2017, I was a single mum juggling the whirlwind of finances and raising kids. I wasn’t working at the time and needed to find something that fit around my children’s schedules and something I would be passionate about. Struggling with depression and anxiety, finding a job that wasn't working from home wasn't really an option; some days I was just too anxious to leave the house. With a background in retail, I knew what it felt like to be in a job that didn’t spark joy. I needed something more fulfilling, something I genuinely enjoyed and something that would keep me engaged.

For a long period of time, I had been doing my own nails, mainly due to finances but also because I enjoyed the creative process. It became a form of self-expression and a way to unwind. Then one day, I decided I deserved a treat—something that would get me out of the house regularly and challenge me to push myself out of my comfort zone after all entering a salon can be really daunting, but I took the leap. Oh, how I regretted it. The visit left my nails severely damaged, with the nail tech filing through my natural nail plate. As I walked out of the salon, I thought to myself, "I could do better than this." And so, the idea for Little House Nails & Beauty was born. Fortunately, I had received some money from my grandparents, which I saw as a sign to invest in myself and my children's future. Without wasting any time, I enrolled in my first course in Builder Gel. Finally, I was diving into something I was genuinely excited about. Being able to work around my children’s schedules, I found a balance that allowed me to be there for my family while also building a business I love.

Understanding how anxiety can affect people, I made it my mission to create a welcoming and comfortable environment where even the most nervous clients could feel at home. My goal was to ensure everyone who walked through my door felt relaxed, cared for, and safe.

Fast forward to today, and Little House Nails & Beauty has blossomed into a thriving small business. I went from completing one course to being qualified in many more beauty treatments, although space is now limited, and I now focus on just nail services. One day, I aim to pinch the child's bedroom to be able to expand my services again, but I can't see him leaving home any time soon (kids, eh?)

The journey has been incredible, filled with learning, growth, and amazing clients who have become like family. I take pride in knowing that Little House Nails & Beauty is a haven for those seeking quality and care without the hefty price tags. I genuinely believe that the beauty industry can be too expensive, and everyone deserves a treat and so I am committed to bringing treatments to clients at affordable prices.
